Mwaka Bay, Lake Tanganyika, Tanzania

Mwaka Bay at the northern side of Korongwe Bay.

Mwaka in 1997, a pristine rocky coastline unmarked by human ambition. This is the small habitat of
Tropheus sp. “Mpimbwe” (“Yellow Cheek”), extending 1 km only, from Mwaka towards Kafwila Village.
The rocks are giving way to a sandy bottom in quite shallow water which further limits the rocky habitat.
